I have noticed that many non Turkish publications/journalists are cutting pasting from Turkish Foreign ministry press releases and using language like "Greek Cypriot Government" or "South Cyprus" instead of the Republic of Cyprus. Culprits include the Guardian and Rueters.
Can someone help me draft a statement which is 25 words or less which can be posted or sent to these bastard editors of these publications in Countries which allegedly only recognize the Republic of Cyprus as the only legitimate government on the island.
Other issues which shit me up the wall are statements like:
Cyprus was ethnically divided by Turkey following an Athens backed coup. Is this a euphemism for ethnic cleansing? This sound like Turkish fairies sprinkled magical pixie dust transporting Greek Cypriots to the Free Areas on a rainbow when the statements should specify the Turkish Airforce bombed and napalmed unarmed civilians while the Turkish Army conducted a scorched earth rape and pillage campaign named "Attila".
Some members of the Jewish media have now started using more accurate phrases like "the Turkish Army forceably expelled the mainly Greek propulation of the Northern part of Cyprus and repopulated the region with settlers from Turkey."
