I was always in favour of Nikos Papadopoulos myself. He's got a good head on his shoulders just like his dada! :D

Let's hope he finds the motivation because he has lots of supporters! :)

A boxing match between Erato and Eleni would be something to see, both heavyweights!

Lots of motivation for the son of his dad and money too, the system was very kind for the family, since 1960.

The father served his country well, and his death was such a big loss! I hope the son can follow in his dad's footsteps and even if he proves to be half as good then he too would be an asset to Cyprus. But I have high expectations and want him to be better than his dad because Cyprus needs him.

As for being wealthy, well that is to be expected. The family own one of the most notorious legal firms in the country, and the old man served Cyprus for 50 years! :)

Erato is 100% female and in her hay days she wouldn’t have looked too bad but that “Eleni”… that thing is NOT female!

That’s a sex change operation gone real bad!

From a lecture Marcoullis delivered in 2007:

It is not only unfair, but, moreover, a distortion of historical facts, to present the victim as the party bearing the blame for the lack of a settlement, to accuse the Greek Cypriots for refusing to accept by a democratic referendum a single plan, in the form of the so called Annan plan, which in its final form fully accommodated all Turkey’s demands and would have perpetuated her grip on Cyprus.

The Greek Cypriot Community rejected the particular plan and definitely not the solution of the problem. As a product of arbitration and not of an agreement between the parties, the Annan plan did not serve the interests of the indigenous people of Cyprus, Greek and Turkish Cypriots alike. It was tailored to serve the interests of Turkey on the island by taking onboard all its concerns, to the point that it failed to address in a satisfactory manner core issues and key concerns of the Greek Cypriot community, like security, functionality and respect for fundamental human rights. Suffices to mention that it provided for the permanent stationing of Turkish troops on the island, the perpetuation of the presence of all the illegal settlers, as well as the inclusion of provisions that would have legalized the ethnic and property cleansing caused by the invasion and occupation. Instead of representing a genuine federal arrangement, it would have ended up as a confederation of two separate states, dysfunctional and therefore non viable, leading to permanent dissolution.

Yes there isn't any doubt about her. She has fire in the belly and she would make a good President. :)

In 2007 she was a Minister in Papadopoulos's governement. So was Michalis Sarris and both were supporters of the "yes" vote in 2004.

Bananiot, all those who voted for the Annan Plan are entitled to change their mind and acknowledge they made a mistake. You should not hold it against them. Even Hilary Clinton when testifying before the House Foreign Affairs Committee in 2009, indicated that she agreed that the Annan plan failed because it imposed on the Cypriot people provisions “that would be unacceptable to Western democracies.” Now get over it and move on. Please.
