Get Real! wrote:Its 6-7 hours p/day and you then go home to write up and correct tests, some nights working till 10-11pm. Outside of school hours you are also expected to attend parent’s meetings, school meetings, organize and run annual festivities, write up reports for incidents, deal with needy and problematic kids without training, etc.

As a bonus you also cop the abuse and insults of everyone’s badly brought up kids so most of you myself included, wouldn’t last a year in this environment… you’d probably murder a couple of them and end up in prison!

I wouldn’t want this shitty job for twice as much.

Reh GR, as I said there are exceptions, but you can't tell me that the majority of teachers are dedicated to their work. I know some that do a good job, but know many more that don't, except when they get paid extra for it!

I also agree that is a job I wouldn't want, it is hard enough trying to teach adults!
