I will move to Cyprus soon, and I am looking for somewhere to live. I am looking for a cheap and simple room or flat. The only thing i really need is internet connection, preferably ADSL.

I have been thinking about the Larnaca area, since it is close to the airport, but anywhere in Cyprus would do.

To rent or to buy.

There are lots of real estate sites on the internet, but they just seem to be interested in selling brand new, luxurious and expensive apartments to tourists. Where is the real estate market for common Cypriot people?

Internet connection you get everywhere, ADSL in the cities, their suburbs and several villages.

How much are you willing to spent for the flat?

I do not really know the market, and obviously I would like to spend as little as possible...

I had planned to spend around 100 CYP per month to rent an apartment. Does that sound reasonable?

It seems ok for a studio or one room apartment, but it also depends on the area.

Well any area with internet-ADSL is OK. Preferably not too far away from the airport (Larnaka).

Do you know of any good websites, or someone to contact to rent a cheap small apartment?

Check the Larnaca ads, there are two ads for one bedroom flats for 150 pounds/ mounth, and an ad for 2 bedroom flat for 120/month. They all say that they are located in the center of Larnaca and therefore ADSL should be available. There are phone numbers there you can use.

Are there lots of Cypriot property ads in the newspapers? Can I access those ads over the internet?
