In Cyprus’s case, the EU’s original sin was to admit the divided island in 2004 when the Greek Cypriot-controlled government and its Turkish Cypriot opponents were still far from sealing a comprehensive settlement. This step removed almost all EU leverage over the Greek Cypriots. It has enabled them to obstruct EU business at will and to cock a snook at Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots from the shelter of EU membership.

the ft's original sin woz to side against cyprus. we're in the eu now, so stop bitching about it, u cheap whore of a rag.

we're gonna own u soon, bitch; so be careful wot u write.

Correct ZoC, FT's original sin is to suggest that an illegal military occupation and ongoing ethnic cleansing operation can allow Cyprus' accession to the EU to be put on hold. EU human rights law now applies FT so go suck ON IT!

Obviously FT represents a small minority of capitalists (mostly in the UK) who don't mind if the worst kind of atrocities are committed if this means profits for them. The position of these scumbags does not represent the vast majority of European people, since all surveys show that the vast majority of Europeans do not want Turkey in EU. Therefore the entry of Cyprus in EU serves the interests of most Europeans and maybe FT should start doing the same.

For a pink paper its editorials are not very "pink", they are almost fascist in fact. No doubt the FT will blame the ROC for the forthcoming problems of the Turkish economy.
