Hat's off to Mr. Polyviou who has more honor in his little toe than Toffee has in his entire fat little body.

No, the guy is full of so much shit and has an enormous ego. He will never accept responsibility, but attack Polyviou, the firefighters, military and just about anyone else he can, and deny all culpability. Such is the nature of this "man".

Either you like him or not Christofias was elected in a perfectly democratic way. You should also give him credit for appointing Poliviou for an independent investigation. You can call him incompetent, but so far he acted in a perfectly democratic way. I believe we will have early elections.

I don't think the previous member ever questioned the fact that he was democratically elected in a fair election.

Frankly, he had no choice but to launch an inquiry to investigate all the facts leading up to the explosion at Mari.

David Moyes should resign too.

The report calls for criminal prosecutions "without exception". Presumably this would mean that the President's immunity from prosecution would need to be lifted. Is this why it's taking Christofias so long to resign? Does criminal liability cease once a President is no longer in office?

I recall when Christofias won the elections and some CF members were heralding him as the “reasonable one” who was going to solve the CyProb and more, and these were my prophetic words to them from Sep 17, 2008…

“The incompetent fool known as Christofias, or Tractor Jim if you like, doesn’t know the meaning of the word “strategy” so prepare to be disappointed because all he’ll manage is to set new low levels that the RoC is prepared to sink to at Turkey’s amusement and abuse.”

Seriously, if Christofias doesn't resign after being blamed personally for this tragedy then I would lose the little respect I had remaining for him. It would be proof that the guy has no dignity and no sense of the national interest. He would be bringing the Presidency into disrepute. I hope MPs vote to remove his immunity from prosecution and he is criminally investigated and impeached.

Blimey! He's not going. Even though he said he would resign if the report found he was personally responsible. He's blamed Polyviou for exceeding the terms of the investigation and claims that the report's conclusions are not supported by the evidence. In effect, he didn't like the outcome of the report and has chosen to ignore it. This is how a tin-pot dictator of a banana republic would behave! What a disgrace!
