European Union Affairs Minister Egemen Bağış on Wednesday called on the EU to build up pressure on the Greek Cypriot administration to remove a veto on the opening of talks in Turkey’s accession negotiations on a policy chapter on energy, according to an Anatolia news agency report.

“EU countries must stop the Greek Cypriots’ refusal to open the energy chapter,” Bağış told reporters during a meeting with the French Ambassador to Turkey Laurent Bili.

Deffo a clown, the EU itself has frozen talks on EIGHT chapters pending a resolution of Turkey's refusal to open air-space and ports to CY.

... oh and of 33 Chapters, only one has been concluded successfully.

As if Cyprus is going to open the energy chapter while Turkey is refusing to recognise its EEZ and is threatening the RoC's right to explore for reserves. Are these people serious?

That's what happens when you don't invest in intelligent WMD R&D. You end up whining and expect sympathy from the world.
