It will be a good philanthropic thing to do as well, as the Cretans will be saved from the Athenians. Liberated. Plus the Cretans are pretty goody people. Cyprus gets bigger, stronger and mummy is debt free.

Cretans are not ethnically Greek which explains a lot really.

I think they are far closer to Cypriot/Sea People/Phoenician etc etc.
