Unkie is in London interpreting and coordinating for his Mommy in law who just had major surgery on the spine. My final hurdle is to now arrange her complex departure (and mine) for this Saturday on a stretcher with a nurse by her side; as required by airline policy, and hopefully hand her over to the Nicosia General in one piece so that her battle may continue.
Been here since the 4rth, seen most of the Westminster sights, eaten as much of the British cuisine (which I love) as I could, and used more cabs to get around than DT wanks in a day… <- and that says a lot!
London is very expensive and I now know that we are very blessed in Cyprus to only pay €2-3 for 20 cigarettes, €3-4 for a coffee, €2-6 for lunch, €20-60 for a basic pair of shoes as opposed to… ₤5-7 for cigarettes, ₤3-4 for a coffee, ₤6-14 for lunch, ₤40-90 for a basic pair of shoes! The bottom line is… don’t come to London for bargains because you won’t find any… not even outside of Westminster.
Yup, many things in London are like 2-3 times dearer than in Cyprus but I’m told wages and salaries are higher, but of course that’s no consolation for those of us visiting.
So no, I’m not the Sparrow poster and pirates suck anyway as evidenced by all the loot at the British museum!
That’s all for now… be excellent to each other and I'll see you soon.
