Cyprus has a problem and the problem is one which attacks her very survival, but no fear because she has identified what the problem is and has quarantined the infection.

Her immune system is in the process of attacking this infection and only once it has been ridden from her system will she be well enough to stand on her own two feet and run around with all her bliss and glory.

Look, all points of view should be aired, and yes, at times the discussions do get out of hand. I have scaled back of using strong language myself, even though some take this as a sign of weakness. I disagree. When an individual stops respecting me, then I let them have it, that's it. DTA often tries to provoke me with his endless groundless accusations, but when ever I ask him to back his statements, he disappears until another time, to repeat the same rubbish. I have learned his pattern, therefore I do not take him seriously or personally, but respond to him in a civilized way all the same.

I agree with Kiks. The disappearance of moderate voices can only continue the deterioration of CF. We will end up with only the two extremes who are unwilling to listen to anything but their own views.

Deniz knows that there are many on both sides of the divide that have similar views to his and it is only through dialogue that more people (the ones who are willing to listen) can be brought in to this fold.

DTA is hardly a "gentleman". Before he was attacked he'd called Sotos a "bitch", B25 a "dickhead" and an "idiot" and claimed that Greek Cypriots plan to ethnically cleanse T/Cs from the island, proof of this apparently lying in the absence of forumers like Viewpoint - who in my experience on this forum, never held back from propagating the most offensive and fascistic nonsense, but was never stopped from doing so.

I do agree with you that this is a failure of the Mods. Apparently it's the price we have to pay to hear all views. But I think you are wrong to claim there is a conspiracy at work to silence T/Cs. If someone comes on here and makes provocative statements they must expect to be challenged. If they insult then they must be able to take it. It's always been the case here. Personally, I'm sick and tired of hearing Turkish propaganda about the invasion. I long ago lost the desire to reason with the unreasonable. It's wearing. A contemptuous put-down makes more sense than debating with someone who thinks it okay to steal and occupy your land and has come here to tell you why you deserved it! I really have no time for it anymore.

I hope you reconsider. As the Turkish occupation degenerates into its crude fascistic state, all Cypriots will need to be present to challenge it. This is where the real debate is going to be.

When was the time that everybody was polite in this forum? I am here for 6 years and I don't remember such time! The forum thrived on that sort of language. The best friends of Deniz in here were YFred and Miltiades ... who used the worst language the forum has ever seen and Deniz wanted them back after they were banned! If anything the forum now is much less aggressive with members like Yfred, Miltiades and Oracle banned ... and now this sort of language is mostly in this part of the forum and not everywhere. If anything some members like Get Real left because they couldn't stand all these politeness rules.
