T/Cs are now a minority in the occupied areas, in case you hadn't noticed. Where is your concern for the humiliation and slow extinction they face at the hands of the Turks? In a unitary state, as EU citizens, T/Cs would have better minority protection than the Kurds in Turkey and equal citizenship rights.

That's not good enough for you. What you want is continued special status. You want privileges, your own fucking "state" and you want to keep what has been stolen from the majority population under force of arms. You don't want the responsibility that comes with citizenship. You don't want the EU acquis which is good enough for millions of Europeans but not for the 80,000 T/Cs in Cyprus apparently. You want derogations at our expense that would deprive us of rights that other Europeans enjoy.

So why have so few who left in the period 60-74 come back to the so called TRNC - how come many are still leaving - and how come (as I understand it) so few have gone to the the Turkish so-called Motherland? Is Erdo right about something? Aren't they grateful for supposedly being saved?

As for sympathy for the T/Cs? The majority have made their own bed and must lie in it. It is T/Cs who are complaining about their extinction. It is up to T/Cs to stand up and fight for their right to a future on a united island. If they do, then I will support that right. I sympathise with all those decent T/Cs who reject Turkish fascism and what Turkey has done in their name on the island. I wish there were more of them.

There are around 80,000 T/Cs left. And around 120,000 illegal settlers. How many T/Cs do you think there are?

I Have NEVER said that the TRNC is perfect (it has plenty of problems) or that Turkey is the best and most benevolent country in the world - But neither are Turkey or the TRNC what they are made out to be here.

by the way loads of Gcs have also not returned to the ROC either maybe after a solution members of both communities will return.... maybe???
