if a woman moves into my house uninvited, starts helping herself to stuff in the fridge, starts sleeping in my bed... sure she's likely to get f*cked...

This is your history....
Always invaded, sold by a reign to another one.....
cypriot were just sitting and waiting for new owners.....
Cowards!!!!!

The Cypriot history takes a turn when the cultural and social Hellenism was his destiny are blended with those of Greece. With a long rush to get up to 1191 when Richard the Lionheart conquered the entire island was ceded to the Templars who in turn gave it to Guy of Lusignan, was born the kingdom of Cyprus, which lasted until the advent of Venice .

In 1489 the island was taken by the Republic of Venice following the abdication of Queen Caterina Cornaro. It became an important commercial center, was fortified Nicosia, the city's most popular. Following the ongoing Turkish raids were fortified Famagusta and Kyrenia. The island was conquered after a long and bloody War of Cyprus (1570-1573), by the Ottomans in 1573 that made it a province (eyalet). On June 4, 1878, the Sultan leases for 99 years the island to the British, but November 5, 1914 with the outbreak of the First World War it was annexed in 1925 and declared a British colony.
