No matter what they say I think the clash of civilizations is inevitable. Maybe the elites care about the economic interests above all but the people care about their country and their society and more and more of them feel increasingly annoyed by the invasion of incompatible cultures in their countries. This hostility will increase in the future for sure... Cyprus should be an example to other Christian countries who should see the kind of problems and damage that large amounts of Muslims who do not believe in Western values such as democracy can create to a country.
