Postby kebabs » Wed Aug 24, 2011 12:26 pm

Hello to all who live in Cyprus. I need your expertise advise. I am looking to visit Cyprus in a couple of months with my husband and 1 year old daughter and needed some suggestions. We are looking at a 5* hotel in Limassol - any recommendations? Also do you have any discounts books there for restaurant/attractions? We have never been there but have lived in Dubai for 10 years. i hear its beautiful! Any help much appreciated.

Thank you!

Best 5 star hotel in Limassol is the Four Seasons. Attractions, like entrance to ancient sites, are cheap so no need to worry about that. You can find discount coupons for restaurants but these are mostly for touristy restaurants that I wouldn't recommend ;) For fish tavern I would recommend Pasalimani near Amathous. For steak I would recommend Taurus Steak House ... and if you want something cheap there is always McDonalds ;) And if you want souvlaki and Cypriot grill food at good prices there is a good place between Sigma Bakery and Orphanides Express. All of the above restaurants are on the same road as Four Seasons and easily accessible by bus. And there are many more on the same road... just make sure you avoid those which are made only for tourists... even if you are given a coupon for them ;)

If you like kebabs - as your nickname suggests  - you wont be disappointed and I would recommend them If you want a good meal and not expenisve provided of course you visit the right places. I dont know any of them in Limassol .

I always order cyprus kebabs mix with shieftalia.

Thanks so much for your information and i will defiantely look into it. Have looked at four seasons and that looks amazing...also is Le Meriedien good? My hubby a golfer so he is looking forward to the courses there. I heard they have an Entertainer book in Cyprus now with 2 for 1 discounts off golf and restaurants, is this true and has anyone used it? Any feedback appreciated. Also do they have kids play areas in the malls??

Le Meriedien is good and they have some amazing Spa, but from what I know there is no golf course there. There is mini-golf, tennis, basketball, a small soccer field, watersports etc. If you want Golf then go somewhere like Aphrodite Hills (Intercontinental), which is in Paphos district.

Yes, you are missing that someone is advertising a discounts book, but they are being more subtle than they were on another local forum, their post got zapped fairly quickly there!

It seems he is the same guy  And I wasted my time giving advice to him when the only thing he cared about was to advertise his discount booklets :x I should have realized when he started talking about Golf courses in Meridien!

Thanks for the "missing link"!

It just seemed very odd, that someone who wants to spend a lot of money on a 5 star hotel would bother with discount coupons to eat at restaurants just to save a few Euros.

I'm all for deals, but the above just didn't make any sense at all.
