Hello,
We have be lucky enough to sell our house in Larnaca recently. When we purchased it some years ago we bought it cash back in the good ole day's! (remember them?) However we lost quite a sum in transferring from sterling to Euro.
I am obviously keen not to make the same mistake again!
So, some advice on the best way to transfer the money to the UK and therefore into Sterling would be very helpful.
Would it be more productive to have the money paid straight into our local branch in Cyprus? (Bank of Cyprus)
Also, can you tell me if we need a lawyer? (cost roughly 1.5%)
I have been advised that we only need a "Tax clearing agent" (cost roughly 300-500 euro).
But do we even need that if we have the money paid into our local branch at BoC?
All advice very welcome please.
Jon & Lucy
