Cyprus Economy

Postby Cake Boss 2 » Sun Aug 14, 2011 12:24 am

Hi Guys

Just discovered this forum and was hoping if someone can update me on the Economy? I am thinking of moving to Larnaca where I was not born (sadly) but raised. I had to come to UK because of my fathers job.

Is it safe for me to start up my own Patisserie business?

Kind regards

X :D

There is a crisis, but this does not affect much the daily lives of most people ... although the new taxes will touch all of us. Still, I don't think that 2% rise in VAT (from 15% to 17%) will stop people from buying sweets ;) Starting a business in a foreign country will always be challenging. I don't think that the current state of the economy is what will determine if your business will succeed in the long term or not. Actually at this time it might be a bit easier for you to get a better deal for your shop (to rent or buy) ... although securing a loan from a bank is actually harder now.

Up a murky creek with the designated paddle would describe the economy.

But you know what....

that makes it the best time to;

start a business
invest in growth
move home

As they say (whoever they are) when everything is at sale prices, it's time to buy!

So put your hand in the mud, pick up that paddle and row!!!
