It won't matter when the Oil/Gas comes up. The important thing is to know there is Oil/Gas at the fields and how much. Once the amount is known, it will be like money in the bank and anyone and everyone will give credit to Cyprus as much as she wants as long as the reserved wealth under the sea can cover it in the future. Cyprus will have more friends than you will ever imagine. :D

Here is an example.

We will still be talking about this next year and without any product to sell the "RoC" will face hard times like the rest of Europe although some still feel that the south is not facing any sort of crisis when we debated this some months ago.

You need to think long-term. If this does turn out to be one of the largest gas reserves in the world then we are talking about a boost to the island's economy for decades.

In the meantime you should reserve your concern for the T/Cs who are being shut out of a potential share in the island's resources by the occupation of the north. You don't have much to say about that, do you?

Who is shutting them out? you people seem to counting your chickens before they hatch, good luck to you if that chick one day does come flying out of the egg but until then you aint got nothing. The TCs will never submit because you have natural resources, if that was the case we would all be moving south to share your "super economy" you claim you have.

Pity the "Trnc" can't recycle the gas coming out of your backside. That's the only resource you have legitimate claim to.

Not even that is legitimate, as they are living illegitimately all the same.

problem with VP, is she would rather bury the TCs just so that she doesn't have to admit being wrong.

Poor TCs. With 'friends' like VP who needs enemies.

As I've said, as soon as the Gas/Oil is confirmed in the next few months, all kinds of credit will be extended to Cyprus, if she should want it. When the actual products comes to the surface, is totally irrelevant. It has been in the ground for the last 65 million years, so it can wait for couple of years more.

Don't worry, you still have Turkey to pay for you, therefore in a way, you got your own "oil/gas wells" in Turkey.

They may however start running dry soon.
