The vocals of Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias did not charm a Turkish corporation that has filed suit for return of a concert fee.
According to Broward County court documents, Miami-based law firm Astigarraga Davis has filed a suit against Fort Lauderdale-based International Creative Talent Agency LLC, which promotes Iglesias, on behalf of Voyager Kibris Ltd.
Turkey-based Voyager alleges that Iglesias was to perform at its Merit Crystal Cove Hotel in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Oct. 16, 2010, but canceled because of security concerns. The suit claims Iglesias was given security assurances by government officials, and cites that security concerns was not listed as a reason for cancellation in the concert contract. Voyager is requesting that, per the contract, the $281,739 concert fee paid to International Creative Talent Agency be returned.
Iglesias stepped onto the music scene in the late 1960s, enchanting women, including a few of my older cousins, with songs of love and romance. His son, international pop sensation Enrique Iglesias, is a Miami-Dade County resident.
