Looks to me the occupied area is falling deeper and deeper into illegalities and deeper and deeper into the control of Turkey. I feel sorry for those TC's who genuinely want unification under a fair and just democratic principles.

And No one is lost in translation either, if you thrive on unfairness and taking from others to make yourself happy then you agree with gun legalisation, selling of others lands and taking half a country hostage because you believe your better than the rest. How foolish to believe that Turkey is there to support a population of 80,000

I have a friend who is working as a tourist bus driver, you know those super luxurious ones.Among his duties is to carry tourists to certain destinations one of them are the casinos at the occupied. He takes them from Larnaca airport. You know there is too much competition among them (even among restaurants) and they usually bribe the bus drivers to bring tourists to their place, not to someone elses. From the very second trip guess what the owner of the casino told him."chose any woman you want... if you prefer a pistol here... and he draws 2 of them for him to choose

I have replaced the terms GC & TC with Kypreos and Kibrisli as in our native languages.Turkey will handle the occupied to the EU and get out and clear.

I cannot fathom how some people can say they are better off under this regime than a unified Cyprus. There you go we don't always understand everything. Why would one choose a life of crime, prostitution, gambling, bashed because you want a better life for your family yet insist this is a better life than a peaceful co existence in a land that belongs to all of us.

Humanist the Kypreoi have equal if not more crime in the RoC controlled areas. Every now and then you hear they placed a bomb, or burned a business, or they killed someone. Fortunately this crime is limited between people who do dirty business, like drags, prostitution, gambling etc. I was just pointing to the fact that is very easy to get a pistol in the occupied compared with the RoC control areas but that's just that.

The difference with the occupied is that their casinos and other dirty business is a major source of income to their economy. The average Kibrisli however is out of this like the average Kypreos. I believe the absence of a solution is due mainly to the property issue, combined with many many other issues.

Pyrpolizer

I think the lack of a solution is as you stated multifaceted however, I am now strongly believeing that is the intransigent attitude by some wealthier TC's who are benefiting from the situation that are holding back unification.

I also think that the RoC needs to support the TC population to move to the free area and take possession of their properties in the free areas.

I alsofeel that those Kyprei who either live overseas or who have no intention of moving back ought to see the benefit for all if they accepted compensation and allowed TC families living in their homes to continue to do so.
