VideoGaming in Cyprus (or lack off)

Postby Positive Vibe » Thu Aug 04, 2011 10:17 am

I was wondering why videogames aren't really popular in these forums.

Surely people play their Playstations, Wii's and what not?

Does any one play anything on any platform? I play pretty much anything so would love to converse with any recent games anyone ha recently occupied themselves with.

Oh that's wicked. Then I'm not the only one that plays games then.

bellaita since you've got Mario Kart on Wii maybe we can organise an online race sometime? I'll try to remember to post my Wii Friend code when I get home later.

It'd be great if you were up for playing.

Otherwise I have all 3 platforms but I game mostly on the PC. The game that's been sucking up most of my time recently has been Minecraft. It's a lego world and you can do anything you want. The main appeal of the game is that you survey an area, mine for resources, and then build yourself a castle or whatever using those very resources you mined. The more time you mine the fancier materials you have to build the project of your dreams.

Another thing I've been playing recently is Mass Effect 2. If anyone is familiar with Start Trek and Star Wars then you'll be right at home with the concept of this game. I know most older folks don't play games but they still appreciate some of the TV shows they grew up with. Well Mass Effect 2 is a homeage to some of those older shows.

On the playstation front I'm waiting for Uncharted 3 to come this fall. Uncharted 2 was a great and I am curious to see if the sequal will outdo it.

Regarding ultra realistic military simulators, Battlefield 3 looks amazing this year and I am also anticipating Halo 4 (space marine type game) and the Last Guardian (Action/Adventure/Puzzle) in 2012.

I know that sounds a lot but it only averages to around 3 or 4 games a year. I am sure there are people who read more books and watch more movies in a year then that!

What I really hate about World of Tanks is the amount of grinding needed before you can actually enjoy the game. There is no way a Light Tank can take on a Medium Tank.

I mean I understand that one tank has a bigger main cannon and thicker armor but 1% damage with shots? Like how realistic or fair is that? It certainly isn't any fun unless you get a hold of the big toys and frankly they take ages of frustration to acquire.

Yah, i just dont like it and ppl stopped playing black ops for this game... granted they came out with 3 DLC's which pissed off a lot of ppl (updated our server with the map packs, and if you dont have the map packs you get kicked)and on the second DLC they just got fed up :x oh well.

Have you heard of world of planes lol.... seriously!?!? blah!

World of planes? Hmm nope never heard of it before now.

I had a check over at their website it looks kind a cool. Will keep an eye on it especially since they say it's subscription free.

But if you're into that sort of thing then you're surely going to like microsoft flight: http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/

It looks absolutely amazing but hopefully it'll be better optimized then its predecessor FSX.
