How do GCs feel when they visit the TRNC?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

First, these incidents are extremely rare. A handful only - which given the thousands of crossings over several years is testament to the remarkable tolerance of G/Cs. Especially when you consider that our land in the north is under occupation.

Second, no-one is excusing any assault on visitors to the free areas. Most G/Cs are proud of how prosperous, cosmopolitan and tolerant the free areas have become. T/Cs should come and see what they are missing out on.

If a few hot-heads have reacted it's unusual but in a sense understandable. Things are not normal in Cyprus. Opening the crossings does not solve the issue of the occupation. Until Turkey leaves, then things will remain on edge. Turkey's presence in the north is a huge provocation in itself. That's the way it is. No point in kidding ourselves that the problem is anything but the result of the continuing occupation of our country.

Oh, of course, the Cyprus problem only began in 1974; how remiss of me. :x

I though we were talking about the rare incidents of vehicles being attacked in the free areas. What are you saying? That this is a continuation of the 1960s? A few empty cars being damaged? Seriously?

To you, it is just 'a few empty cars damaged ', but to TCs it shows the inability of the RoC to control these freaks. İf the same happened in the north, İ would understand, but the RoC ia an internationally recognised EU member. You want us to fe el safe? Then do something about it.

Obviously you are playing silly buggers and cannot answer the question as it would reveal your guilt.

Tens of thousands of T/Cs cross every day to shop and work in the free areas without incident. Given the circumstances that Cyprus is an EU member under occupation I'd have thought that was bloody remarkable compared to some of the incidents which occur against racial minorities in the rest of the EU which are not under the indignity of occupation. Perhaps you should give credit where it's due...

you are looking at this with the wrong shoes...look at it from the gc shoes...day and night salt is rubbed on their wounds with the picasso on the mountain...not condoning attacks on noone, but...

if the tcs were sincere about unification, peace and coexistence the picasso should have been removed long ago...by not removing the picasso from the mountain, the problem is in a perpetual rotary motion...

also crime happens everywhere...have a look here...

can you say that these events are the fault of the US government...mind you the blacks suffered a lot more than the tcs...should now the US split, in black/white/hispanic sectors and have their own governments?...because the blacks/whites/hispanics lost faith in the government?...

shit happens...unfortunate and regretfull...but reality...

I'd have thought T/Cs would be more concerned about the continuing occupation in the north, the eradication of their culture, the increasing repression and the continuing influx of settlers. But no. Apparently a few cars have been scratched in the free areas. And this proves what exactly? That it's the G/Cs to blame! Incredible...

The occupation authorities are slowly wiping them off the face of the earth and they complain that out of hundreds of thousands of T/C visitors to the free areas a handful have had their cars scratched! Words fail me. I sometimes wonder if you lot really want to preserve yourselves because most of the time you just don't seem to give a damn ...

Upto 6000 Kibrislis were crossing everyday to work. Now due to this economic crisis the numbers have dropped to 2000 I think.
What kind of cars do these poor people have. 90% are 30 years old rotten Renaults, imported from Turkey after they got totally rusted from snow. They park them everywhere you can imagine, sometimes they even abandon them when they fail to start anymore.

Has anybody ever scratched one of those cars :?:

The point is I 'm not the only one who interacts with Kibrislis and gets first hand information on who are the ones who cross with brand new Mercedeces and BMWs...
