TC's Special Representative for Negotiations Kudret Özersay has strongly reacted against the information leakage to the Greek Cypriot press by the Greek Cypriot side, about the contents of the first intensified leaders’ meeting held on Monday.

Commenting on the content leakage in the Greek Cypriot Side, Special Representative Kudret Özersay announced that the TC Side has launched an initiative at the United Nations on the matter.

“This shows why it wouldn’t be right to negotiate the map and figures falling under the Territory chapter at the moment” he said, adding that ‘information leakage disappoints the Turkish Cypriot Side and serves to increase its existing distrust” he said.

The Special Representative pointed out that information leakage in South Cyprus is actually aimed at sabotaging the possible success of the negotiations and also indicates the lack of good will.

He noted that manipulative Greek Cypriot press reports on the content of the negotiations aim to mislead the Greek Cypriot public on the TC side position.

Özersay called on the Greek Cypriot public not to be deceived by such ill-intentioned games.

How do we know it wasn't Kudret Özersay who leaked the information himself to the GC media just to find an excuse not to discuss the territorial adjustments, specially after Erdogan's outbursts the other day in not willing to give any land back to the GCs ? Surely Eroglu doesn't want to discuss territorial adjustments, but was forced by Ban Ki-moon, no doubt, in their last meeting in Geneva..

Well the "gc press" isn't at fault... an important part of a Free Democracy is a Free Press reporting on matters of concern to the citizens.

No secret deals and whisperings between politicians behind closed doors.

So, if the press has revealed details, and no one has posted evidence yet by the way, to show the extent of Turkish Intransigence on Property/Territory ... well done to them.

I think President Christofias and Erolglu should be giving some information to their communities about the progress of the negotiations. That will give both of them a measure and some idea about what they are planning and hopefully some feedback.

We know for example Eroglu is fighting more for Turkey than the TC community so they may have something to say about that.

We know we will not accept anything less than democratic or something that will not give us the same rights as any other EU citizen
