Hi,

We're going to be visiting Paphos for the 1st time next week, for 2 weeks. Just looking for some advise on eating out.
We've been told to try and visit some of the small towns around Paphos for dinner to really experience traditional Cypriot food at great value. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some towns to visit, that would have some good restaurants in the traditional setting.

More like villages actually ... In the Paphos district the only other place that can count as a town could maybe be Polis Chrysochous. I am not from those places so I can't give you specific recommendations but as a general rule anything would be better than the main tourist areas.

As you are not hiring a car, you will have difficulty getting to surrounding villages; Polis is nice but You will be looking at taxi fares of €90 or so. There is an excellent taverna in Stroumbi, with Cypriot folklaw shows etc. on some evenings, but again it will be prohibitively expensive to get there. You should reconsider hiring a car unless you just want a lay by the pool holiday; there is a lot to see.
