..."Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayiip Erdogan’s statements during his recent illegal visit to Cyprus’ Turkish occupied areas have caused concerns to the UN Secretariat, according to diplomatic sources.
UN Under-Secretary-General Lynn Pascoe has been assigned with the task of looking into what Ankara is aiming at, with regard to Cyprus, they note.
Pascoe, they indicate, is expected to summon Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ertugrul Apakan during the coming days and before the UN Secretary General’s good offices mission report on Cyprus is released...

Deffo jahitty... but guess they'll hide behind some discrete deeeeplomatic talk.

The other very important thing... and it may well be THE most important thing... is that the UN should consider the orchestrated roughing up of CY Protesters by Erdogan's Henchmen, the crushing of free expression and dissent by the CYs last week.

The UN can do or tell jack shite to Erdoğan! And if they tried, no one will listen. What do you reckon (or hope) they can do - declare war on Turkey because of his statements...

no they cant, however it is an oppurtunity, maybe the last for the EU to show some steel and solidarity, however its unlikely.
