When I lived in the UK I used to drink a lot of tea without milk or sugar: I found this had a cleaner taste and was more refreshing, than Milky tea. That is a personal choice and I know that some people prefer their tea with milk and/or sugar or lemon. etc. It is however surprising to some that, however one takes one's tea, even in hot weather a hot cup of tea can be very refeshing, sometimes even better than a good pint of bitter. Perhaps I'll take up tea drinking again.

Do however try proper English Bitter Ale, or Pale Ale, or Light Ale, or Mild Ale, or Brown Ale, or Porter, or Stout.

If you are in London, for a very traditional pub try the Lamb tavern in Lamb's Conduit Street in Holborn, no more than five minutes walk from Russell Square Station on the Piccadilly line. Otherwise try to beg borrow or Steal the CAMRA Good Beer Guide to find a pub with good Beer in it.

I am slowly trying to convert the wife to run on traditional English ales, but so far she is not keen on anything too hoppy in taste.
