Erdogan Effectively Ends Talks

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It would have been absurd for Erdogan to be cooperative in a time when Greece and (now?) Cyprus are in the middle of a financial crisis. Or maybe he accepted the realities:

Turkey began formal talks on joining the European Union in 2005 but is frustrated by the slow progress made so far. Aside from Cyprus, core EU members France and Germany both have strong doubts about letting Muslim Turkey join the 27-member bloc.
Out of 35 chapters, policy areas of EU law, Turkey has completed one, 12 are under discussion and 18 have been frozen by Cyprus and France.

So the PR didn't work then. Reminds me of Gadaffi's desperate attempts to prove how much the Libyans love him...

A public-relations agency hired by Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, has covered northern Cyprus from one end to the other with huge placards bearing a portrait of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan...

Yes ... gather much of the Occupied Areas were covered with these... and doubtless there were many offers of the usual free, dodgy Beko fridge-freezers...

All very Gaddafiesque

...Turkey will implode if their fait accompli is finally realised.

...it will be difficult for many young people to sit, accept that their future is limited
excluded as not Turkish enough. Antifon's reality will become a violent norm on many
fronts, where terror, and threats of civil war, are the result.

...I am afraid because it seems that very soon he will sacrifice Kibrisli lives, so that internally, for the short run, "Turkey" can feel strong.

Where is Bananiot when you need him!

Once more, on Cyprus soil this time, Erdoghan repeats the message he delivered after Birkenstok: Turkey regards Cyprus as a conquest and is not going to concede an inch on any point, therritory, guarantees, federation, nothing zilch.

Erdoghan is naturally counting on the so called "miracle" of the economy. It might help him to hear what Turkish economist Serdar Pazi had to say last week:

"The growth of Turkey is reminiscent of Spain ten years ago, being based mostly on imports, external credit, a huge semi public construction sector which is subsidised via large infrastructure projects, and on tourism......2/3 of the stock traded in the stock exchange belongs to foreigners...... consumption is based mostly on credit.....what most people do not understand is that Turkey cannot be compared to the far eastern developing nations, it does not have cheap labor while only 1 per cent of its energy is domestically produced and its development is based on an energy wasteful model."

Turkey is neither as powerful or as serious a nation as some like to portray. They are bigger clowns than the Greeks. An in depth look at their industrial products reveals the larger picture and it is worse than economist Pazi paints.

As for the doctrine of zero problems with neighbors so loudly touted by Davut, it is showing to be nothing but empty talk. As the US diplomat put it "rolls royce ambitions with rover capabilities".

As for the urging to TC women to have more children, that should arouse major suspicions about the dude. Apparently no one told him that what women do with their vaginas is their business and not his. A prime minister should not stoop that low.

Just one more indication that the traitorous TC leaders in the north have sold-out the TCs to the Illegal Alien settlers and Turkey for their own personal gratifications.

Özgürgün also mentioned Prime Minister Erdoğan’s visit, said that “Prime Minister Erdoğan is not a guest in TRNC, he is considered a host.”

You wouldnt know as you are not a TC, this is a polite way of saying my house is your house feel at home...this shows how little you know about our customs and ways.

Erdogan has yet again shown his middle finger not only to the GCs but also the EU.

Özgürgün didn't say "Mi Casa, Su Casa". He basically said to Erdogan that, "you are the Master in the "trnc" and us the little people TCs are your servants".

There is a huge difference when you allow your guest to feel at home than turning over the keys to the house for them to run the place as they wish. But then again, you are one of those who would sell-out the TCs to the Illegal Alien settlers and Turkey for your own personal gratifications.

Yeah, stupid is, stupid does!

Never mind the middle finger Turkey is showing the the EU, because the EU will be showing this for Turkey to sit on pretty soon.

This is to force the GC and EU to clarify exactly their position, the EU is in turmoil due to the collapsing economies of member states and the GCs want to keep the talk going on forever as they have nothing to lose. This bold step by Turkey forces their hand lets see how the EU will react, we know what the GCs will do the will start their usual its the other side that does not want a solution. But when you listen Erdogan is saying solve this by July 2012 or we will take an alternative route and that will be a gradual recognition process over many years.
