I know it may appear selfish in the view of such tragic losses to be worried about such such trivia & for myself such minor deprivations doesn't worry me, but my concern is for my grandchildren, two of whom are aged about 1 years old.
We will be staying in Ayai Thekla will we be subject to power & water cuts? The query about food was born on the grounds that lack of power usually spells lack of refigeration.

It's a diff time for all CYs and all of CY Ron, such a small place that everyone is effected by such a tragedy.
... but life goes on.
Stayed a few times in Agia Thekla, regretfully it's a pretty non-descript linear development of "villas" along the coast road, but being within a few hundred yards of the sea, there's always a good breeze to cool things down but it can get a bit humid. Off the main road it's a very quiet place.
It has got a supermarket and a bar just down a cul-de-sac about half way down the main road and you'll find one of those invaluable potable water dispensing machines there as well for which you will need a good-sized water container.
The great attraction is the local quiet beach with a cafe. It really is a gem of a beach. There are however loads of slippery rocks under the water for the first few yards 'til you find a sandy bottom so do have a care with the kids. It's very shallow between the beach and a tiny island fifty yards off-shore. There are beach showers there if you find you've run out of water at home for showering.
Pretty sure it's outside the tourist area so expect the power cuts and take torches etc.
Will message a friend there to see if there is more info for you.
