"The "P" is now even a documentary photograph, taken just 24 hours before the explosion of container to naval base "Evangelos Florakis."
This picture of the container was in the top left position of the heap with explosives. Is the top side of the container which is shown in the photograph published yesterday and was expanding in all aspects.
According to information from the 'P' in this container with code GLHU 325565, was spontaneous combustion and explosion of small-scale for the first time at dawn Monday, July 4 resulting from the gas to create a deformation of the outer metal casing. Followed by other small explosions which showed even the most ignorant on the explosives that a major eruption was a matter of time.
However not taken any steps to prevent the tragedy, although there were dramatic appeals by the late commander of the Navy Captain Andreas Ioannides. The photos with the deformed container had presented both the Minister of Defence and the Chief GEEF but the deputy chief. The instructions were given by Deputy Chief Savvas Argyros would be sprayed with seawater explosives three times a day. But even this measure was not applied, as reliable sources report.
What happened Monday morning was the re-spontaneous combustion of gunpowder in this container. But this time the explosion was not confined within the container and the explosion of broadcast and other containers were stacked in such a way as to form a huge power bomb.
The two photographs documents that revealed the "P" is irrefutable evidence of criminal negligence was shown by the GEEF, the Ministry of Defence and the Government, which knew the danger of the situation, preferring instead to take measures to sacrifice the lives of people and to shake the air the local economy.
It should be noted that the first photo of the disfigured by the explosion caused the container around the world and reprinted by dozens of media worldwide. At the same time in GEEF ordered an investigation to determine that leaked the photos in our newspaper.
Several hundred marchers have forced their way into the grounds of the Cypriot presidential palace in Nicosia, during a protest over a fatal blast at a naval base that killed 12.
Protesters were stopped by riot police at an inner gate about 100 meters from the palace. Minor scuffles broke out between a few stone-throwing youths and police who fired tear gas. It was unclear whether President Dimitris Christofias was in the building.
The invasion followed a peaceful march late Tuesday by some 10,000 people shouting slogans and carrying placards reading "Negligence is criminal."
Monday's massive explosion of seized gunpowder wrecked a key power plant and forced the resignations of the defense minister and top military chief. Authorities have ruled out sabotage.
