Limassol Landmark

I stumbled across this seemingly planned development. I was wondering if work has actually started, or whether it is yet another project (Disneyland springs to mind) that was mentioned, given plenty of publicity, and then just completely forgotten. The article is dated 14/05/2010.

Anybody know anything about it? Certainly would be a fantastic addition to Limassol.

What I know is that there is nothing build yet at the site... With the crisis I think any plans for such developments will be delayed. This one is moving ahead quite fast thought: http://www.olympicresidence.com/

I hope this God forsaken monstrosity never goes ahead. It will be about a block from my house (in fact my house is in the photo) and certainly nothing I want to look at. The better landmark is the old Lanitis house on the corner, which will be bulldozed if and when the project goes ahead. Absolutely disgusting. And what with all the empty apartments already for sale? Who will buy? The developers will get millions from the banks, never pay it back, and the banks will verge on collapse......Sound familiar?? Time for Cyprus developers to get a reality check.

The plans seem to show the house on the corner is still there ...

The building will be behind that house ... if it is ever build. I believe that house johbee is talking about is listed.

The link I provided is over a year old. Have you heard any more about the development? Is it any closer to going ahead?
