It hasn't.
but I 'll tell you something. I encountered the ultimate degree of fascism as a school kid from the Physics teacher who was cursing us all everyday with the words "incompetents-Useless-Crippled" , who was always half drank and used to beat us too. Another fascist was the young whore teaching us chemistry-she would punish everyone who she just wouldn't fancy, another fascist was the sports teacher who was trying to make super athletes out of us. One of my best friends was a super athlete and this teacher was giving him "vitamins" everyday. At the age of 40, my super athlete school friend died from heart attack.
as for the school master, damn him he was so black i though he was from Africa, yet such a fascist, he was at the school door every morning checking on us and calling us at his office for punishment, i thought he was the devil himself.
Not even one of the Religious Knowledge teachers was a bad person. In fact they were giving us all straight A grades. In fact i still remember one that I liked so much, he name was Panayi, he had some relation with Makarios, he was a superb teacher, in fact he was the only one i understood something about religion, he taught us the chirstian meaning of love and what loving your fellow man means.I learned something from him although i was always an atheist

B25, do I strike you as a man that will shy away from expressing an opinion? I have openly fought fascists, be they teachers or idiots like you, for all my life and I have also talked openly about the ridiculous benefits of state school teachers too. My pension, since you are interested, is 900 euro per month so you need to explain to all how you make your fascist calculations.

God and ethics are 2 different things Bananiot.
The trick of most religions it their trying to attach an ethical code to whatever God they promote.

Btw why don't you clarify to those asking you, that you are a teacher at a PRIVATE school?

I think every body knows my status. I told it so many times I have forgotten how many. I worked in the private sector for 17 years and 15 in the public. I know the cons and pros of both worlds and I have no problem to discuss them openly.

Boys, boys, boys... these personal recollections are all very interesting but could just get back to the theme of the OP which is, it seems to me, this forcing of Islam on to the traditionally very secular CYs who live above the cease-fire line.... pleeeezy......weeeeezy.

I'm sure VP likes the idea. I think he wants to be the first Grand Ayatollah Mullah in the north.

Do you really think so, dear Bananiot.?

Maybe because VP likes to play the role of a "lightning rod" here on the Cyprus Forum.

Bananiot, VP claims the occupied is a paradise and all these demonstrations organized by the teachers are just to increase their salaries.
So what do you have to say about that?

Bill for me the situation is crystal clear.Erdogan is pushing Turkey into a "democratic islamic" country. All these reforms, all this EU road, mean nothing for him other than lifting the restrictions imposed by the so called secular state towards religious freedom-which in this case is just free practicing Islam as they please even to the point of fanaticism. While this is a bit difficult for Turkey at the moment it is much easier in the occupied. The Kibrislis have already been replaced by more than 50%, and the settlers are there to become the ingredients of Erdogan's soup. The next step is to replace ALL the Kibrislis...with selected fanatic Islamist settlers.
