There are many Cypriots who take great care to stay within the Law & others that flout it, the same as in any other country.
I agree with this sentiment: it is a minority who give the majority a bad name, but I must agree the situation would be much improved if we had effective firm but fair enforcement of the laws.
As to ITALY: a friend of mine was on holiday there and he noticed lots of cars illegally parked: then he saw people dash from the offices and shops, get in their cars and drive-off. Just a few minutes later the Police came down the Street. As the Police left the street so the cars all returned to their illegal parking spots.
The question is how did everyone know when the Police were coming to check that street?
dear...
ur friend was on holiday in Italy, so, it is not so attendible....It might happens smth like that, but belive me.....in my country, police it is always on the road, searching the way to apply fines.....this is the primary way to cash for the municipalities....
If u live a car parked in a wrong way, on 90% of cases ull find on ur glass a fine..about 70euros.....In the worst cases, u wont find ur car......Ull have to pay an high fine and after 5 times, ull have to apply again to obtain ur drive license.
and believe me...in Italy ull never, never, never find a car parked on pedestrian sidewalks...never.
But here, in Cyprus, u will never find a fine on the glass.
i would like to understand where is the police.....maybe Limassol municipality is so rich and that's why they do not need to apply for fines..
but then a question came in my brain....If so rich, where do they spend all these money?
Who knows the answer, please?
