The Pacmen Should Stay

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The Pacmen Should Stay

Postby bill cobbett » Sat Jun 18, 2011 3:49 pm

First for the benefit of those not familiar with CFspeak, the Pacmen are those huge Stalin era flags on the Pendathactylos range, and they have multiplied and see there's one over in Kokkina, and others have said that they have also appeared over on the Karpas. Presumably the TA have nothing better to do.

Anyway...

Think post-settlement, one of them should stay, as a reminder to us all of what happens when there's conflict and given the length of time some of them have been up there, how not to resolve conflicts, given the CY experience to date.

Also think CY needs to give something back to the UN, cos the nice UN have spent a huge amount of money since 1963 on their peace-keeping mission, some peace-keepers have been injured and lost their lives, massive amounts on sumptuous dining and first-class travel for their deeeplomats over the years, so it's only fitting that CY gives something back, as a reminder also to the UN, for as long as those bleeding monstrosities last, of how not to resolve conflicts.

...both should go Bill, but maybe another could be built because there is a National Assembly for Turcophones, like one the Grecophones will have for their self-representation as a body, as Persons; maybe they will have a flag too. but there is one flag that will fly island-wide, and around the globe, the island's flag, our Country's.

...this is Bicommunal.

...the greatest tribute that we can give those who fell, is to continue their fight lovingly and with Grace. suffering Peace has its ultimate sacrifice, it is seen all to often, and it is worth remembering their aim (here in particular) was to end the fear caused to Cypriots caught up as victims in an interlocutory proxy war. beyond the politics of "Greeks or Turks", there is the war on the Ignorance that keeps us apart, that keeps us from fighting real enemies, such as Hunger and Disease.

...there's, that "Green Line" in Nicosia that needs paint
we should meet there to celebrate our Freedom every year.
(when that happens) that would make them happy...

...their graveyard monument way up north,
move it to where it belongs, that too i imagine would
(for Justice to be seen) make them happy.

Cheers!

Hopefully they are not removed prior to a settlement.

This graffiti is a great PR tool. Every tourist and every foreign diplomat sees it and they know its purpose
