What we didn't like? That north Cyprus was not freed from the Turks ... that plan was giving to you 29% of our land! And if that was not enough your 18% minority was given way too many undemocratic powers. But it doesn't stop there ... 1000s of settlers would get to stay, the Turkish army would still be in Cyprus just in reduced numbers ... etc etc etc etc.

The AP was a scheme:

Daniel Fried , a senior career diplomat of the United States who carries the rank of Ambassador ,said in 2004:

In General :

1) It legitimized and continued the illegal Turkish occupation

2) It permitted fewer than half of the 200,000 refugees to return to their homes, and that only after three and one half years from now

3) Instead of uniting the country, the Annan Plan perpetuated the division, being, in all but name, a partition.

4) The 18% Turkish population of the island received 29% of the land and 50% of the valuable coastline

5) The Plan permitted all the 100,000 Turkish colonists illegally imported to Cyprus by occupation authorities to remain in homes confiscated from the Greeks.



Ethnic cleansing would be first legalised and secondly institutionalised .

Thats a war crime. I was born in a 100% Greek Cypriot village in Kyrenia and I have no connection to the free areas under the Annan Plan we are told we can only participate in a democracy and have human rights and citizenship rights in the free part of Cyprus and yet some former Turkish Army officer is allowed to live in my house which I have a legitimate title deed to.

The AP purported to "extinguish" my legal title to my home and properties purely on the basis of race, religion and ethnicity. I have other properties which are occupied by other non cypriots and some which are vacant.
