It discriminated based on ethnic background. Didn't give Cypriots full control of their future, hence destiny.

And of course Turkey (and Greece) would be "legally" allowed to intervene in the affairs of a so-called sovereign State. No where else on this earth has one country been granted the legal right to intervene with its military in an "independent" State. Futhermore, the EU commented on this and condemned the practice. In effect, VP, "legally" permitting one State to use force in another means that the recipient State is not independent or sovereign.

the highest authority in Cyprus would be a council of "judges" comprising three Greek Cypriots, three Turkish Cypriots, and three non-Cypriots. The three non-Cypriots will decide on anything the Greek and Turkish Cypriots cannot decide between themselves. So the highest authority in Cyprus will rest with three individuals, not elected by anybody, who are not even Cypriots!

I don't think it is fair to call Halil a GC "arse licker" just because he has coffee now and then with our good friend, Bananiot.!

Or perhaps you meant DTA was being a GC "arse licker" for saying this about the Annan plan after he too opened a thread on the same subject as you did not too long ago, and once he understood what the AP was all about, lectured to him by his fellow CF members, including yours truly, of course. He concluded with this statementto his own questions about the AP by saying,

DTA wrote:its a good point but to be honest as a Tc I would have found it hard to put my signiture to those conditions if they were implemented on our community - that was a step to far imho

I'm certain all the answers to your questions were ALL covered in this thread.....read it.!

DTA wrote:The Annan plan

Can I ask specifically what was wrong with the Annan plan, because from a Tc perspective it required compromises on our part too, for example refugees from Guzel Yurt (mourfo) becoming refugees again for a third time in their own lifetime.

But never the less I am interested in what the GC felt was so wrong about it, but please give specific details so we can better understand - As many (even moderate) Tcs see the plans rejection as a GC rejection of unification.

So in short you are saying the UN and EU were trying to stitch the GC people by supporting the AP as a comprehensive solution.

In short I'm saying that the EU and the UN does not support the AP of 2004 for Cyprus in 2011. Stay in the present and we might get somewhere with a settlement based on 21st century ideals of Europe for Cyprus.

As usual you are avoiding the question, were the UN and EU trying to trick the GCs into a bad solution? Think carefully its you vs the UN and EU (plus others we wont mention ooops Greece).

For VP the clock stopped in 2004. He can't remember anything after. A form of traumatic amnesia.
