Bloody 3G dongles

Postby CBBB » Tue Jun 14, 2011 1:16 pm

I have a charlou relative over at the moment and she bought a UK Vodafone 3G dongle for her laptop about 10 minutes before she got on the plane!

Followed all the instructions to install it, and although it detects the Cytamobile-Vodafone 3G signal, it won't bloody connect (we know it will be expensive if we do).

Called CYTA, they say call Vodafone in the UK.

Call Vodaphone in the UK who were nearly as helpful as CYTA!

Anyone got any ideas?

According to this CYTA page you have to install some software...

http://www.cytamobile-vodafone.com/default.aspx?ID=361

... and the dongle may only come with a UK data allowance... may need to purchase additional use abroad package.

or buy the cyta broadband mobile sim card with data allowance...

Thanks Bill, I looked at all that stuff, also the dongle is locked!

I've told my visitor to just come round to my place and use my WiFi (but to leave my KEO alone!
