Özkan Yorgancıoğlu has been elected as the new leader of the CTP (Republican Turkish Party.)
Yorgancıoğlu was declared the winner of the race contested by four candidates at 23rd General Congress of the CTP.
Özkan Yorgancıoğlu was declared as the new CTP Leader, despite failing to receive the required 50.01 % threshold to win from the first round, after his closest rival Ömer Kalyoncu announced he would not be running in the second round.
As a result, Yorgancıoğlu, who received 334 votes became the new CTP leader, replacing Ferdi Sabit Soyer.
The distribution of votes amongst the four candidates is as follows:
Kutlay Erk: 37
Mehmet Çağlar: 240 votes
Ömer Kalyoncu: 229 votes
Özkan Yorgancıoğlu: 334 votes.
