A lot will depend on what type of work you and your wife will be looking for.

If you need to work, then I would suggest Nicosia or Limassol. Both those offer more options with regards to education and schools as well.

But like the previous poster said, it all depends on the type of work you are after.

Finding good jobs to support a family of 4 will not be that easy. So maybe you should first search for jobs, and then go to live wherever your jobs are. How old are your children? if they are more than 7-8 you will probably have to send them to a private English school and that would limit your choices also.

Hi,

Yeah, the guys are right, it depends a lot on the job and what you expect here. As a foreigner living in Cyprus for almost 14 years, I think I'll recommend Limassol over other cities for the day to day living, not that I dislike other places but Limassol seems to cater a bit more on the not-speaking-greek and not-a-tourist part, then again, that's personal opion.

The thing is, MOVING here? I hope you know what you are getting yourself into........

Good luck!

I have been here a long time and seen loads of changes but the main problem now is the euro against the sterling. There is not a problem with houses to rent or buy, just shop around and dont take the first asking price. Schooling is expensive if you dont speak greek. I would say paphos in preference to limassol has the most english speaking, its like little britain.

You should first get over here in the school hols and have a good look around. Ask and keep asking.

by the way the drivers are lethal.....that really on the whole is my biggest fear here.

good luck

Without knowing more about your particular circumstances I think I would go with cpjay or Pahitis rather than Sylvia on location; many of the Brits if Paphos are retired, but I would serioulsy question the widsom of any significant location change (particularly one affecting livelihood) without ensuring the livliehood aspect is secured - I came for work but I had clear a job offer - work is otherwise not so easy to find here, and certainly not at UK wage rates, while by any measure prices can be a lot more expensive compared to the UK.

And yes the driving can be intertesting - in terms of the Chinese meaning of interesting in the curse "may you live in interesting times"
