“We have decided to place Lefke Türk in the [Greek Cypriot] fourth division as this situation does not run counter to FIFA’s regulations,” said Greek Cypriot Football Federation, or KOP, Vice President Andeas Sandis.
The Greek Cypriot fourth division is on a par in quality with northern Cyprus’ play-off league.
Sandis, however, said Lefke Türk would not be able to play its matches on the northern side of the divided island because Turkish Cyprus is not recognized by FIFA.
It is expected that the club will play its matches at Pirgo stadium, although Lefke Türk officials have reportedly complained about the state of the non-grass pitch at the ground.
They just need to drop the word "Türk" from the teams name and just go by "Lefke" since there are no other teams using the name "Lefke" to confuse which is which.
