Now you know why people like VP do not want to be in the EU with it's principles, but instead remain a separate state to do as they want.

Talk about a blatant match result fixing. No doubt someone had a big bet on Nicosia's Cetinkaya team winning 3-0.
In a "Corrupted Society", such racketeering shouldn't come as a surprise.
Yeh I know. I mean a penalty in the final seconds! Give us a break !
Why not? Manchester United is in a habit of winning matches at the last second in prolonged extra times. Big teams are always favoured. (or is this another 'conspiracy theory?).

RIK1 news just reported that TC football team Lefka FC is negotiating with KOP to commence playing for the national Cypriot league in the new season despite the risk of being banned from the TC league.
I can predict a few issues with this such as home ground, division placement/evaluation, and the overall long-term commitment required that the TC players may not be able to fully adhere to.
Anyway, it’s an interesting development and a very courageous move by the team’s decision makers.
I hope everything goes well and the Cypriot league becomes more colorful with the addition of a TC team.

"Dourios Ippos" -EPSILON-Said many times- Turks occuppied North and they will use all means to obtain and secure rights in South.
Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris (29.06.11) reports that nineteen civilian organizations from the occupied area of Lefka have expressed their support to the struggle of Lefka Sports Club on every issue, including its intention to file an application to join the Cyprus Football Association (CFA). Representatives of the organizations held a press conference yesterday and recalled the decisions they took at a meeting on 22 June.
They said that the punishment of Lefka's football team by the so-called federation (after the cup final) was a punishment against Lefka and its people.
Former chairman of Lefka Sports Club, Teoman Oktay said that the inhabitants of Lefka will never forget or forgive the fact that the chairman of the so-called Turkish Cypriot Football Federation described them "traitors of the country" and the chairman of the "disciplinary committee" of the "federation" called them "anarchists". He argued that the issue has become an international problem now.
“We have decided to place Lefke Türk in the [Greek Cypriot] fourth division as this situation does not run counter to FIFA’s regulations,” said Greek Cypriot Football Federation, or KOP, Vice President Andeas Sandis.
The Greek Cypriot fourth division is on a par in quality with northern Cyprus’ play-off league.
Sandis, however, said Lefke Türk would not be able to play its matches on the northern side of the divided island because Turkish Cyprus is not recognized by FIFA.
It is expected that the club will play its matches at Pirgo stadium, although Lefke Türk officials have reportedly complained about the state of the non-grass pitch at the ground.
