ROC should adopt Equadors stance on oil reserves.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Also, the med's eco system will be under just as much risk from Israeli drilling so that environment won't be better off if we do not drill. We will just end up being financially worse off, and that is just plain STUPID!!!!

What ? It wood help if Jahitty at least came friom Planet Earth as on that Planet Cyprusb is quite hilly and a very good proprtion of N Europe will have gone (all the way from the Baltic to the Urals) long before Cyprus vanishes beneath the waves.

Otherwise how much sea level rise is this idiot predicting? The best estimate suggest a rise over the next centurty from about 90mm (about 3.5 inchs) to 880 mm (about 35 inches) with a probable 480mm (20"or so) and that will barely tickle to pavement at the Molos.

Yep, more of the same.

We are just following everyone else's lead.

Surely the awest knows best, so if they want a change, then they can lead by example and minnows such as Cyprus will follow their lead.

Until then, Cyprus, Israel and Egypt will drill in the Med to make their respective nations stronger and more prosperous.

Get the oil and gas out now and cash in the chips. The longer its sitting there the longer Cyprus will be sitting duck, take the money and run. Are you mental enough to tell Israel and the Americans, British or whoever wants our oil piss off we want it in the ground?

There are financial, environmental and above all, political aspects regarding the oil. All these must be taken into consideration before any move is made. Probably, it cannot be touched (if it is there) until a solution to the cyprob is reached. The populist rhetoric that aims at making the natives believe we are on the verge of becoming rich, is dangerous in this explosive part of the world with so many issues open.
