In which case, what is the point of going on about it?

I’ve got a good thing in mind to go pull out Sotos’ grounding and shove it in a bucket of water!

I’ll give you two pins if you insist!

Actually, you would be better off adopting the British Electrical standards because they are safer, and that being the case, I don't understand why on earth you would even want to install continental '2 point' power points.

If you read anything I wrote in this topic then you would understand. Do you have to use an adapter to plug on the wall 9 out of 10 things that you buy in your shops there? I don't think so. Such things happen only in Africa and in Cyprus! Since apparently it is cheaper or makes more sense economically to import products with 2-pin plugs then it makes sense to have wall sockets that accept those plugs directly without the use of adapters!!

I did read your thread, and yes, I would still prefer using adapters, or replace all my leads by cutting the ends.

But that's just me!

You are free to do what you like!

Well looking at this site, there doesn't seem to be a standard European plug/socket anyway. Seem to differ from one country to the next...

http://www.powercords.co.uk/standard.htm

Didn't know that... thought they were all standardised.

Oh I get it! He's pissed off with those round things!

Just do what I do Sotos…

Whenever I buy a new appliance that needs that crappy round adapter you’re on about, I just ask and get a Cypriot plug instead! I’ve never been refused so far. Then it’s a matter of 5 minutes to connect it if you’ve got the right tools.

I don't use any of those round things.
