The owner was a GC who owned the chip shop next door too.

The staff was a mixture of GCs, TCs and Turks and it was great.

I lived in Boleyn Road at that time and a regular at that Wimpy. Dont you recognise me?

Tattie howking aged 13 - picking potatoes and loading huge baskets before the tractor came back down and same again. Then taken home exhausted on the trailer and paid three Scottish pounds for the day. I was rich and I was a man!

Then apprentice baker at 16, checking shortbread as it came down a production line, rubbing them together if they were burnt. A mind-numbing, repetitive job that I hated from the start. Up at 5am and on the bus with the miners and factory hands with my lunch in a WW2 gas mask case. Fled after four days! :)

Probably would. I worked Saturdays and covered summer, when the Cypriots went to Cyprus for their hols and was there right up to 1991 when I finished uni.

I guess I depends on how well you knew the staff there.

I thought they were mainly TC's. I left there in 1975, so I was wrong. Before your time. Flippin 'eck. Cant even remember the dates unless I count backwards. Doesn't time fly. At Uni, done waiting in Old Compton Street, the CHEZ AUGUSTE (holidays only; Lurucadi manager, all wairs GCs and TCs), and the Wimpy too in Viliers Street(evenings); Next to Charring Cross Station.(Hungarian Manager). That would be 1964 to 1970.
