The former Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash has accused the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor on Cyprus Alexander Downer of being “biased” adding that “he is being used by the Greek Cypriot side”.
According to reports in the Turkish Cypriot press, Denktash noted that Downer is on the island in the framework of the UN “good offices mission” and that he is obliged to act equally towards the two sides.
In his statement, Denktash alleged that Downer, “acting like an EU spokesman”, threatens Turkey by saying that “if Turkey does not make any concession to Cyprus, it will not be able to enter the EU”.
He, inter alia, claimed that together with the “illegitimate membership” of Cyprus to EU, the good offices mission of the UN Secretary General on Cyprus has been impeded, adding that this is an “injustice”.

... but they'll be more and more of these outbursts from Donkeytosh and other Partitionists/Taksimists as July 7th approaches and the time for Turkey to drop the intransigence, make some good big concessions and show some goodwill draws nearer.

I's like Denktas to provide evidence the the Cyprus EU membership is illegitimate. Whats eating the Turks away is that we as a nation have moved forward adn we are about to embark on further wealth through our natural resources and they are still slave to mama Turkey because that is how far TC brains can manage. A whole world awaiting for them but their stupid allegiance to a nation that beats their own people is keeping them down and second rate citizens in their own Country.

humanist we are no way jealous of anything you have may you become more and more wealthy, this is like us being jealous of Saudi Arabia for having petrol....slightly ridiculous. You appear to be like most GCs more materialistic but intangible benefits for me outweigh wealth...eg safety, freedom no GC domination and of course the TRNC
