More to do with freedom to fly what evr flag you wish unlike South Cyprus where you cannot.

If the RoC by some miracle won the Eurovision and hosted it the following year, what makes you think that if Turkey qualified, they would prohibit its waving in the auditorium?

The Turks were taught a lesson In world politics that night.

When Turkey won and hosted Eurovision the GCs tried to call Istanbul Constantinople but were soon put in their place I think that says a lot more about who taught who a political lesson.

Perhaps, but an unrecognised state with all its colours was represented in that competition.

Even the Turkish state television had to display the flag of an unrecognised state to all its millions of viewers.

The indignation of it all.

A TRNC flag was also on display for all to see.

The truth is the Kibrislis were not invited or did not participate to the proceedings to represent CYPRUS to the Eurovision song contest. Therefore only the Kypreos did and they lost on top of it!

The occupied Cyprus is still part of CYPRUS and there should have been a way for the Kibrislis to participate.

I think an invite form our government for Kibrislis to participate under the RoC flag.
