FOUND BABY BIRD OF PREY

Please can anyone give me any idea of who to call re this bird. We have2 nesting pairs in larnaca and this baby has been sitting in the garden all day with its beak open but no sign of the parents.

Any advice. I cant fine any help telephone numbers

I don't know of any places for birds .. just dogs and cats. Are you sure his mother will not return? Higher chances of survival will be if you don't touch it or move it and hope that his mother will return. If it fall of the nest then try to put it back. The other thing you can do if the mother does not return is to find our what kind of bird it is and then search the internet to find out how you can feet it yourself. But if it is very small then chances of survival without its mother are minimal.

just hide it from the locals before they pickle it or deep fry-it, or what-ever they do to wild birds....

In the event that it survives the weekend and is still there on Monday, try contacting Birdlife Cyprus, looks like contact numbers are only for office hours though.

We don't deep fry them! They are best pickled.

Actually it is much better to eat wild animals than farm animals, as long as we are not talking about endangered species. A new fashion now is "free range" which tries to give to some farm animals a bit of freedom ... but it would be much better for the animals if they were really free.

If it's too small feed it for a couple of months, while keeping it in a cage.

When the times come, BBQ it. :D
