The Greek Cypriots were very cold to the idea of gathering an international conference but it was the first time they have given a green light to it, though conditional. The idea was loudly spoken by the Turkish part, who insisted that its format should be limited with two communities and three guarantors and under the U.N. auspices. It is also against the participation of U.N. Security Council’s permanent members due to Russia and China’s pro-Cyprus stances.

The British are useless as a "guarantor". They were supposed to guarantee the territorial integrity of Cyprus but they don't. How about offering Akrotiri to the Russians and Dhekelia to the Chinese? China will soon be the new World Power and will need a lot off oil so I am sure they will be interested in bases in our region
