Wrong prices at Carefour

Postby Sotos » Thu May 12, 2011 4:44 pm

Be careful at Carefour supermarkets as they sometimes have a different price on the shelf than what they charge at the cashier. It happened to me several times that the price I was charged at the cashier for some product was higher than the one I remember seeing on the shelf. I always thought that it must be my mistake but this time when I was charged 25c higher for a box of cereals I went back in to check, and the price was indeed wrong! I told them about it and they said they would refund the 25c but I didn't want to bother.

not sure wot carefour is but it sounds a bit like 'gavur' - is it run by muslims? maybe they don't like uncircumcised pork munchers.

btw... that happens in the bp petrol station in southgate too... they don't overcharge for petrol but sometimes, if they got a special offer on for things like crisps (buy one, get one free), they don't honour it at the till.

Carrefour is in origin a French based supermarket chain ( a bit like Tesco or Sainsbury's) but plainly learning a few tricks - Not aware of any Muslim connection.

We have had the problem at other supermarkets where the price charged was higher than the shelf price.
The story was that this was because an offer had come to an end and they had not had the chancfe to change the prices - IMHO that was a load of Bollocks and it happened as they could not get their arse in to gear to do change the prices twixt closing on Saturday and opening Monday

IMHO selling at more than the shelf price should be a criminal offence!

I have seen the reverse where an item has rung up cheaper than that on the shelf! With so many items in a supermarket a number of cock-ups are acceptable, but if it is too many items it is obviously an organised rip-off!

Never shop from foreign-owned supermarkets, like Carrefur, Lidt, etc.

The Carrefour shops in Cyprus are part of a Greek franchise operation, and who trusts them?
