Zoc, the basic problem is that there is a lack of a purely Cypriot identity. Until that is attained by both sides, then efforts to reconcile will be doomed. The RoCy flag shows the ideal, but that ideal is still far from being fulfilled.

Guess it's a mammoth task at the best of times, this nation-building, this common CY identity.

Takes generations of hard work and good will... and what chance did CY have? What was it to star with, 2-3 troubled years 60-63?... and the rest, at best and at least, has been division.

Difficult boys and girls, very difficult, perhaps it'll be something your CY children and grandchildren will strive for. Who knows.

I think having English as primary language is unnecessary, it would be nice to have two languages. That goes back to what you said about the Cypriot identity, sadly we are a somewhat bastard race, every asshole civilization thought it would be a good idea to pop over. We just need to start teaching turkish to kids from greek speaking families as a secondary language (instead of useless italian/french) and teach greek to kids from turkish speaking families. Then by the next generation we will become a sort of like the retarded brother of Luxembourg, how cool is that, Cyprus 2013, the most progressive eastern european country!

Anyway thank you all for your input. I made up my mind on what to use from now on.(see my signature).

Assuming of course the forum will survive, which I really doubt. The CY problem seems to be entering a totally new phase where the REAL Kibrislis will soon be replaced by settlers. Hence there won't be any Kibrislis to discuss with on the first place

As if we have been discussing with Kibrislis all this time. Who are we kidding?
