I think ZoC has a valid point - one can talk in terms of the the People of (Cypriot) Cyprus, (some of whom speak Greek and some of whom speak Turkish) or the Cypriot People, but one would not call them the Cyprus People.

However to be really semantic let's go for Cyprus' Museum or Cyprus' Airways - a simple " ' " makes it work (after a fashion)

Then what about Singapore Airlines? Should it change to Singaporian Airlines?

And what about QANTAS which stands for Queensland and Northern Territory Air Service? Maybe that whould change to Queenslander and Northern Territorian Air Service aswell!

Now for the Charlie. You should be more respectful to the flag of your Queen, for whether you consider yourself Britain or Cyprus, you are a member of a Commonwealth country (as is the convict), so she is your Queen and her flag should be accorded respect.

I think ZoC has a valid point - one can talk in terms of the the People of (Cypriot) Cyprus, (some of whom speak Greek and some of whom speak Turkish) or the Cypriot People, but one would not call them the Cyprus People.

It's solely a matter of language and specifically a matter of one of the quirkinesses of the English language that some forms of nouns as adjectives are acceptable and others ain't, whilst on other occasions both forms are acceptable.

A native speaker will instinctively know which to use as appropo.

(oh... and Emva is a ref to an old place in CY and cream is an alt name for some types of sherry in English when used in conjunction with a place-name)

We have our own Flag and our own Crown quite separate to Britain as a Sovereign nation.

As for the Queers and Convicts, well I let u dwell on it for now.
