Greece will NOT leave the Euro.
If it did all its debt would still be in Euros, and the new Drachma would go the same way as the old Turkish Lira.

Why is that? :(

Soto,

Mostly it has to do with the American economy not picking up to the level where it should be after being in the toilet for the last 3 years, although I made the prediction back then, that it would take at least 10 years for any sustainable recovery for the States. I may have been too optimistic even with that number. Also it's national debt reaching almost 100% of it's GDP, which is close to $14Trillion Dollars. The on going wars doesn't help either. They are also printing money like crazy, which dilutes the Dollars value. America is a great country when it comes to making money again in the future if it all goes well in the near future, but at present, that optimistic outlook is all there is....optimistic.!

I hope I'm wrong due to having Dollar based Retirement Investments and Social Security waiting for me in the US for the future, but that's the reality. Being in Switzerland may be the best counter measure against such reality in the USA and pretty much in most other places in the world.

For the short term, converting Dollars /Euros / Dollars will only have a very small gain/loss whichever direction you go, so I don't think you are going to get rich/poor unless we are talking about REAL money here.

Since the Euros inception however, the Euro has done very well against the Dollar and most other currencies, therefore the trend is on the Euro to do well against the Dollar and others in the future, despite few problems within the Euro countries today. Most of the states in the US are virtually "bankrupt" as suppose to only one or two or three countries withing the Euro countries being virtually "bankrupt". Take it to what it's worth, but right now I believe the Swiss Franc is the king of currencies, with the Euro right behind it.!

More important, will Crete leave Greece. Heard on radio today that there are rumblings of devolution coming from Crete again. All due to the bother Greece finds itself in.

Will Crete be able to remain in the EU as an independent country, and if not, who will save them when Turkey invades her to save the Muslims (Turks) from "genocide".?
